Monday, Nov 2 — Tetonia's planners and START's commuter cuts

Tetonia's Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 3192 Perry Ave. It votes on a design review for Calder Boutique Nursery, then holds work sessions on the Pinnacle Peak Subdivision's preliminary plat and on the city's comprehensive plan draft and future land use map. Anyone joining remotely has to call City Hall for instructions.

START is suspending the 5:35 a.m. departure from Driggs and the 6:05 p.m. departure from Jackson, Buckrail reports, citing a shortage of drivers, with the cut expected to last through November.

Tuesday, Nov 3 — Election Day and Corona Valley

Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. Precinct 1 votes at the LDS church at 6181 S. Main St., Tetonia. Precincts 2 through 5 vote at the LDS church at 225 N. First St., Driggs, and Precincts 6 and 7 at the LDS church at 87 E. Center St., Victor. Absentee ballots must reach the elections office in Courthouse Room 208 by 8 p.m.; postmarks don't count. The Teton 401 levy is the only local measure, and the voter guide covers each race.

The recreation district's board meets at 8:15 a.m. at 235 S. 5th St. for another executive session on candidates for executive director. When a resident asked at the Oct. 30 session how many it had interviewed, a board member said, "We had 88 applications, of which we did initial interviews of 10 and second interviews of 4."

The school district's finance committee takes up financial reports and the 2025-26 audit at 5:30 p.m. at 481 N. Main St.

The Driggs City Council holds three public hearings at 6 p.m. on Election Day at City Hall, 60 S. Main St., and on Zoom. Tributary Park Homes is a preliminary plat for 37 single-family lots on 17.78 acres. On the Stone Ridge Townhomes appeal, staff recommends affirming the planning commission's modified approval of eight townhomes.

On Corona Valley, staff recommends the council modify its Sept. 1 approval so that either staff or the council reviews the Phase 1 plat before it goes into the development agreement. The staff report finds six lots, four of them in Phase 1, "slightly too narrow at the property line frontage." The developer's attorney asks the council to affirm the approval and deny reconsideration.

The council also discusses a wastewater customer agreement with Victor.

Wednesday, Nov 4 — Housing, wastewater, and urban renewal

Teton Valley Housing's commission meets at noon in the Commissioners' Chambers, with a remote link on its agenda. It votes on an amended spending-authority policy for its executive director and takes up comment letters to Tetonia on the comprehensive plan, the Pinnacle Peak plat, and an annexation agreement.

Driggs staff answer questions about the city's wastewater survey at the Colter Building from 4 to 6 p.m., and again Nov. 7 at Wydaho Roasters and Nov. 12 at Broulim's. The survey stays open about six weeks from Oct. 26, or until the city hears from a representative sample of sewer customers. The city puts the plant upgrade at $35 million, with an anticipated $25 million state loan toward it. Mayor August Christensen said in the city's announcement, "The people who pay sewer bills in Driggs should have a real say in how we pay for it."

The recreation district's second master plan open house runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Driggs City Center.

The Driggs Urban Renewal Agency meets at 6 p.m. in the council chambers and on Zoom. The agenda lists next steps on the eligibility report the city council approved, on a new district, and on an "Early Sundown," or early end, for the Main Street district.

Monday, Nov 9 — County commissioners and the school board

Teton County commissioners meet at 9 a.m. at the courthouse, with the agenda to come. They continued the family land division ordinance to this meeting to confer with legal counsel. The Gallery Subdivision hearing resumes at 10 a.m. on 15 residential lots across 160 acres. Idaho Fish and Game wrote to the county Oct. 28 that "IDFG telemetry data indicates significant use of the property by GPS collared mule deer and elk."

The K Ranch preliminary plat, on about 75 acres at 8405 Baseline Road, goes to commissioners at 10:30 a.m. The county planning commission recommended approval Oct. 13. Valley Advocates for Responsible Development says the Midway substation decision "has been continued to the next Board of County Commissioners' meeting," though the commissioners' motion named no date.

The Driggs Airport Advisory Board meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall, and the school board meets at 6 p.m., its first regular meeting after the levy vote.

What We're Watching

Victor's straw poll on wastewater priorities closed Saturday as the city weighs a revised agreement or shared governance with Driggs. A customer agreement with Victor is on the Driggs council's agenda Tuesday. In October, Driggs gave written consent for sewer connections serving 576 Victor units.

What to watch: whether the Driggs council affirms Corona Valley's Sept. 1 approval, modifies it to review the Phase 1 plat, or reverses it.

Correction: An earlier version of this article put the Gallery Subdivision hearing at 10:30 a.m. and the K Ranch hearing at 10 a.m. The county's agenda has Gallery at 10 a.m. and K Ranch at 10:30 a.m.
