The Valley Signal is operated by Valley Signal LLC, 10 S Main #106, Victor, ID 83455. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We've tried to keep it short and clear.
What we collect
Newsletter sign-ups. When you sign up for The Morning Signal, we collect your email address. We use it to send you the newsletter and occasional related messages. We don't sell or rent it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
Tips, letters, and other correspondence. When you email us at [email protected], [email protected], or any other Signal address, we keep your message and your email address. Letters submitted for publication may be edited and printed under your name unless you request anonymity in writing.
Site analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, which counts visitors without cookies and without storing IP addresses or personal information. We see aggregated numbers — page views, referrers, country-level location — not who you are.
Server logs. Like any web host, our server briefly logs IP addresses and request data for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to build profiles and are discarded on a routine schedule.
What we don't do
- We don't use advertising cookies or trackers.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't use third-party analytics that follow you around the web.
Third parties
We use a third-party email delivery service to send the newsletter. They receive your email address solely to deliver mail on our behalf. We also use standard service providers for site hosting and security. These providers are bound by their own privacy practices and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing.
Children
The Valley Signal is a general-audience news site and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You can email [email protected] to ask what information we have about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and note the change in the newsletter.
