Monday, July 27 — the county's budget deadline

Monday was the county's last day to post its FY27 budget for a public hearing without starting the notice over, and the commission's agenda set that hearing for August 24. The same meeting took up whether to reopen the hearing on the Corner Fox comprehensive-plan change the board approved in July, with the City of Driggs' written objection now in the packet and the adopting resolution held back. The commission also weighed a proposed open-burning ordinance that would let the sheriff's office cite illegal burning during fire season.

Tuesday, July 28 — a Targhee deadline and a county continuation

The objection window on the Grand Targhee expansion closes Tuesday, the first of the week's two comment deadlines. It is the last of two objection periods the Forest Service set when it issued its draft decision in May. Only people and agencies that commented earlier can object; Teton County filed its objection in July, under both the project and the forest-plan tracks.

The county commission meets again Tuesday at 9 a.m. in a continuation session, with the posted agenda carrying two closed sessions and a meeting with elected officials and department heads. The Teton 401 school board holds a working meeting at 4 p.m. at the district office, ahead of the November supplemental levy the board is preparing.

Wednesday, July 29 — Driggs and Victor expected to talk wastewater

Driggs and Victor hold a joint special meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Teton County Courthouse to discuss the wastewater treatment plans. The Driggs council set the session on July 21, when it tabled a proposal to bill Victor for a share of non-treatment overhead, and Victor's council reopened the wider talks the following night. The posted agenda lists a single discussion item on the plans and opportunities, with no vote scheduled.

Friday, July 31 — comment closes on the state road plan

Comment on Idaho's draft 2027 to 2033 transportation program closes Friday, the second of the week's comment deadlines. The plan carries five Teton County line items, among them a bridge replacement on Highway 33 near Tetonia and a pathway connection to the Victor soccer fields. The county submitted its own comments on the program earlier in July, the same stretch in which the state's top Highway 33 safety fix lost its funding. Comments go to [email protected].

Tuesday, August 4 — Driggs weighs 180 homes and a hotel

The Driggs City Council opens two public hearings at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The first is the Corona Valley subdivision, a 180-unit plat of 32 single-family homes and 148 attached townhome and two-family units on 38.8 acres east of Teton High School. The second is Altitude Business Park, a 10-lot split of 7.24 acres south of Buffalo Junction that includes a lot for a 69-room Cobblestone Hotel. The planning commission has recommended the Corona Valley plat for conditioned approval and approved the hotel's design review.

Monday, August 10 — county and school board return

The county commission returns to its regular second-Monday meeting at 9 a.m., and the Teton 401 school board meets at 6 p.m. at the district office. Neither agenda has posted.
