VICTOR, IDAHO - May 12, 2026 - The City of Victor Gallery hosts one of Teton Valley's most influential artists, Sue Tyler, with a public reception from 4 - 6 pm. Tyler has filled the gallery with original art for show and sale. Visit the gallery on the second floor of the US Bank building located at 138 N Main Street, Victor, Idaho.
Tyler's collection captures our beloved Western surroundings through an adept blend of realism and abstraction. She captures horses, wildlife, and landscapes through a wide range of media. Or she may layer colors and textures to merge recognizable elements with collages that summon the essence of an encounter with the natural world. So many residents - and enthusiasts - of Teton Valley resonate with Tyler's work because of her skillful use of abstraction to move artwork away from specifics of a landscape and towards intimacy with it.
That intimacy with the Western experience comes from Tyler's 40 years in Teton Valley. In that time, the community has come to know her through her prolific shows and involvement in every aspect of creativity. She shows her work in Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Washington. She hosts open studios, teaches workshops, and participates in group shows. Years ago, she cofounded the organization now known as Teton Arts, meaning that we all benefit from Tyler's influence even by enjoying the artwork of others.
