Teton Valley Sheriff Blotter 2026 Week 31

Teton Valley sheriff blotter, the week of July 26–August 1. Two hundred ninety-seven calls came in to the Teton County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies made three DUI arrests, one of them out of a crash the log recorded as an accident. Someone poured acid on a pig in a Driggs 4-H barn. Not one permitted burn was logged all week, and the log carries no theft report.

11:20 A caller in Victor reported an email saying boots had been ordered on their card and were set for delivery to a Victor address. The same card had been run at Victoria's Secret. The boots were $200 Danners. The caller cancelled the cards immediately and was not out any money.

08:01 Six or seven black cows were reported working their way toward the highway near Tetonia, out of a pasture holding about thirty. The caller turned around to help, and the cows went back in. The gate, according to the sheriff's office, is semi-secured.

13:33 Two vehicles collided in Driggs after one pulled into traffic and was struck. Someone was hurt. A 30-year-old Massachusetts woman was arrested for driving under the influence. She refused testing, and deputies obtained a warrant for a blood draw. She was charged with DUI and an open container.

21:46 A mother called the sheriff's office in Victor about a relative the family had not heard from since the 22nd, and who had not been active on Snapchat in ten hours. Deputies made contact with a local hotel. She was found, having slept in while her friend left without her.

05:26 A caller in Driggs told dispatch they had been on the phone with someone who had been drinking and had taken a lot of pills, and whose speech had gotten very slow. That person was taken to Teton Valley Hospital. No report was taken. Anyone in crisis can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

13:24 A man in Tetonia told deputies a contractor had come up and put hands on him over the use of a ladder. He was shoved. A citation was issued for battery.

23:34 A caller in Victor reported Airbnb guests throwing a party on the patio, with beer pong and loud music. A deputy shut the party down.

20:06 Several callers reported a driver swerving, brake-checking other cars, and traveling in the oncoming lane. It came in as a possible-drunk-driver report. There had been a collision with another car, and the driver had been trying to leave. He was in the driver's seat, and deputies noted the odor of alcohol. Witnesses believed he had thrown a box of Modelo from the vehicle, and an open box was on the side of the road. Field sobriety testing followed. The driver, a 42-year-old Rexburg man, admitted to more than three beers. He was arrested for DUI and open container, along with second-offense driving without insurance and third-offense driving without a valid license, and taken to jail.

14:41 Three cows and three calves turned up in a Victor yard near the highway. The brand looked like the Big Dipper. A deputy was unable to locate them.

19:06 A caller in Felt reported a $1,000 transaction on a car loan. The bank had frozen the funds.

10:25 Someone poured acid on a pig in a 4-H barn in Driggs after 10 p.m. The pig was okay, and was well enough to be sold. The case is under investigation.

12:51 A 53-year-old woman was arrested in Driggs on a probation violation. She posted bond and was released.

01:16 A caller in Driggs reported being threatened by their sister's boyfriend, who they said had threatened to kill them. Nothing physical had happened, and the caller said he had no weapon. One person was detained while deputies investigated, then went to retrieve belongings and was given a courtesy ride to a local hotel.

11:44 OnStar reported a collision with injuries in Driggs. A car had been rear-ended, a man and a woman were hurt, and the passenger was taken to Teton Valley Hospital. The lead vehicle had stopped at a crosswalk when it was struck from behind. A driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

16:00 A caller reported a man who came into a Driggs gas station yelling. He had a gun on his hip but did not brandish it. The caller was worried, and asked that the man be trespassed from the property.

14:42 A deputy watching a four-way stop in Victor saw a vehicle roll through it and made a stop. The driver, a 32-year-old Victor man, smelled of alcohol and seemed nervous, and his license came back invalid. The deputy had probable cause to search the car. The driver lived in it and did not want his home searched, and locked the deputy out. He produced a key from underneath the vehicle; it did not work. The real keys were in his pocket. He was detained for interference, and a warrant was obtained for a blood draw at Teton Valley Hospital. With two prior convictions, he was charged with third-offense DUI and taken to the Madison County jail.

23:54 A vehicle hit a deer near Tetonia. Three people were hurt, one with a leg injury. All three declined transport. The deer ran off.

10:08 One or two black cows turned up near a road in Driggs, one with a yellow tag in its ear. Cows had already been out in Victor and Tetonia this week. That made three towns.
