Teton Valley sheriff blotter, the week of July 12–18. Three hundred sixty-three calls came in to the Teton County Sheriff's Office.

A Camaro clocked at 114 miles an hour outran two deputies near Tetonia and crashed twenty-one minutes later. Deputies served a narcotics search warrant in Victor and made a felony cocaine-trafficking arrest. No assault, battery, or threat report came in all week.

18:25 A renter in Victor reported that painters working at the property had dropped something on a vehicle and damaged it. By the time deputies arrived, the renter and the owner had worked it out themselves.

15:44 A deputy stopped a vehicle in Tetonia and arrested the driver, a 36-year-old Idaho Falls man, for using or being under the influence of a controlled substance, along with amphetamine, marijuana, and narcotics-equipment charges. He was taken to the Madison County jail. His passenger was not detained and got a ride from Pocatello.

21:42 A grandmother called the sheriff's office about her granddaughter, last seen at Rigby Lake. Bonneville County had advised her to try the other counties. The case belongs to Jefferson County.

07:23 Three vehicles collided on Highway 33 in Victor as traffic backed up from the city. One driver told deputies they heard tires screech and then felt the impact. The driver of the middle car, stopped about five seconds, did not remember hearing tires or seeing the car coming; the airbags went off when the third vehicle hit and pushed the car into the one ahead. The third driver was not sure why they had not braked sooner. Deputies found no skid marks. A passenger in the third vehicle had a knee laceration and was taken to Teton Valley Hospital. The first vehicle was driven from the scene and two were towed. A driver was cited for inattentive driving.

Deputies and EMS responded to a suicidal-subject call in Victor this week. Anyone in crisis can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

01:12 A deputy near Tetonia clocked a Camaro at 114 miles an hour in a 65 zone. The car did not stop. A second deputy joined the search, and neither could catch it. Twenty-one minutes later the call came in: a sports car wrecked against a stand of pine trees, a Silver Star box destroyed. The car had not rolled, and the driver and passenger were out walking around. Both were 19, both from Victor. Neither was injured. The driver's blood-alcohol readings were .131 and .117. He was arrested and taken to the Madison County jail, and the car was towed. The passenger was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of tobacco.

18:21 A caller reported a possible forced entry at employee housing for Grand Targhee in Driggs, where a former employee had been trespassed from the property. Deputies collected the information and found no damage. Dispatch could find no trespass notice on file.

20:32 Deputies made contact with three people in Victor and cited each for a first or second alcohol offense. Two were 18 and one was 17. All three were from Jackson.

21:30 A domestic disturbance was reported in Victor. The caller wanted the incident documented in case of trouble later on. Deputies advised on civil protection orders and civil standby, and referred the caller to the Family Safety Network. 13:23 Deputies served a narcotics search warrant at a Victor residence and arrested a woman on a felony cocaine-trafficking charge, with fire and medics standing by. The sheriff's office said the investigation remains active.

07:06 A single vehicle rolled near Alta, blocking the road, airbags deployed, the car coming to rest on two wheels. Dispatch logged it as an injury crash. It was not one. The wreck was on the Wyoming side of the line, so Teton County, Wyoming deputies took it over.

22:48 A deputy in Victor watched a vehicle turn onto the highway without stopping at the stop sign. The driver was a juvenile. An open container sat in view and the deputy smelled marijuana. A search turned up marijuana and paraphernalia. The juvenile denied knowing what was in the car and showed no signs of impairment. The deputy issued a citation. Parents were contacted.

23:29 Dispatch took the week's second missing-person call near midnight. It was transferred to Wyoming and cleared with no report.

20:09 A Victor resident reported that a neighbor's Fourth of July fireworks had damaged their property. An insurance claim had been filed. The resident wanted stricter enforcement of fireworks law and more support for Teton County Fire & Rescue, and showed the deputy several months-old videos of a neighbor's dogs harassing horses.
