Teton Valley Sheriff Blotter 2026 Week 28

Teton Valley sheriff blotter, the week of July 5–11. Three hundred thirty-three calls came in to the Teton County Sheriff's Office.

No burn permits were issued all week, though ten fire and rescue calls still came in. Seven thefts were reported in Victor and Driggs.

10:55 Chinese food was reported stolen from a grocery store in Driggs. A report was taken.

22:03 Off duty in Victor, the sheriff stopped a vehicle and called an on-duty deputy to run field sobriety checks. The driver, a juvenile from Driggs, registered breath samples of .057, .051, and .048, above the .02 limit for drivers under 21. Arrested for driving under the influence, the driver was released to a parent.

09:14 A black bear cub, hurt and having seizures, was found near Cedron Cemetery. The call was transferred to Idaho Fish and Game.

13:55 A Driggs business reported a jumping-jack compactor missing from its inventory, taken from an unknown place on an unknown date. Tracking equipment placed the machine in Idaho Falls.

Domestic-disturbance reports were taken in Victor, Driggs, and Tetonia this week, and a domestic battery was reported in Driggs. Anyone experiencing domestic violence can reach the Family Safety Network's 24-hour crisis line at (208) 354-7233 for confidential support.

02:14 Deputies serving a warrant in Victor before dawn found several people gathered around a fire. A deputy spoke with the homeowner and asked to check the back yard. The warrant was executed, and the subject was taken to the sheriff's office and then to the Madison County jail.

12:47 A vendor at the art fair in Victor's city park reported a $280 ring stolen from a booth, the second such theft at the park in a week.

22:12 The sheriff watched a truck pull out of a Victor gas station without stopping, nearly hitting pedestrians on the sidewalk. The occupants were all from Jackson; the driver agreed to a breath test and blew zeros. A search turned up alcohol in the back seat and a THC vape pen in plain view. The driver, 18, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; two passengers were cited for possession of alcohol under 21.

01:08 A caller reported a man lying beside a road near Tetonia in a flannel shirt, possibly moving, though the caller had not stopped and had passed the spot a few minutes earlier. The call came in first as an injured person and was changed to an intoxicated subject. Medics were dispatched.

20:28 A man golfing with his family in Tetonia reported that a confrontation with another group on the course turned violent. After he complained that the group was being aggressive, one of the men directed racial slurs at him, dropped his golf clubs, and approached. That man struck him with a cell phone, tearing his shirt, then dropped the phone and left in a vehicle before deputies arrived. The victim declined medical attention and pressed charges. Deputies later identified the suspect but could not locate him; they collected footage and witness statements and forwarded charges to the prosecutor. The case is pending.

15:49 At the fairgrounds during the balloon festival in Driggs, a license plate was reported stolen off a vehicle. It had been held on by a single screw. The owner wanted a report.

15:38 Deputies were called about an incorrigible juvenile in Driggs and advised the child to listen to his mother and be home on time. A parent had called for backup.

10:08 During a security check the day before, a deputy had found graffiti on the Victor city building. A report was taken.

23:15 A driver stopped near Driggs late at night was arrested for driving under the influence after refusing testing. Blood was drawn. The driver was also charged with injury to a child, and was bonded and released.

17:25 A caller in Victor reported a gift-card scam targeting a friend. The friend had gotten a call saying she'd won a large sum and needed only to buy a gift card and read back its number to collect. She read the number back, got it wrong, and the scammer called again to get it right. No money was lost. Deputies advised her to block the number.

10:09 A week after the Fourth, at ten in the morning, a caller in Victor reported an aerial firework.
