The Driggs City Council holds two public hearings at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The first is the Corona Valley subdivision, a 180-unit plat of 32 single-family homes and 148 attached townhome and two-family units on 38.8 acres east of Teton High School. The second is Altitude Business Park, a 10-lot split of 7.24 acres south of Buffalo Junction that includes a lot for a 69-room Cobblestone Hotel. The planning commission recommended the Corona Valley plat for conditioned approval and approved the hotel's design review.
Monday, August 10 — the county and school board return, and a Victor deadline
Monday at 10 a.m. is the deadline to apply for Victor's open city council seat. The city is taking letters of interest from residents who want the seat that opened when Sue Muncaster became interim mayor, and whoever the council appoints serves until the 2027 city election.
The county commission returns to its regular second-Monday meeting at 9 a.m., its first since sending next year's budget to an August 24 hearing, though no agenda has posted. The Teton 401 school board meets at 6 p.m. at the district office, also with no agenda posted, as the board prepares a supplemental levy it aims to place on the November ballot. The Tetonia City Council meets the next night, Tuesday, at 7 p.m., its agenda not yet posted.
Wednesday, August 12 — Victor budget hearing and a Driggs rezone
The Victor City Council holds a public hearing on the city's 2027 budget at 6 p.m. at 138 N. Main, for the fiscal year that runs from October through next September. The notice does not print the budget total or the property-tax levy; both are available for review at City Hall. Written comments are due by 1 p.m. that day.
The same evening, the Driggs Planning and Zoning Commission takes up a request to rezone a 1.87-acre parcel on East Ross Avenue from single- and two-family residential to multi-family, following a neighborhood meeting in July.
Saturday, August 15 — a deadline on the Felt dam certification
Anyone who wants a public hearing on Idaho's draft water-quality certification for the Felt Hydroelectric Project has until August 15 to request one in writing. The certification is tied to Fall River Rural Electric's federal relicensing of the dam, which sits on the Teton River about nine miles northwest of Tetonia. Written comments on the draft run through September 14. Requests and comments go to the Department of Environmental Quality's Idaho Falls office.

Victor's budget hearing is the first full look at what the city plans to spend after a year dominated by the wastewater fight and a mayoral turnover. The county spent the summer pressing both cities to help pay for sheriff's deputies, asking Victor to raise its contribution to about $120,000, and the budget the council takes up August 12 is where that request either shows up or does not. The city is also still working to fill the council seat Muncaster left, with applications closing two days earlier, even as its wastewater talks with Driggs continue.
What to watch: Whether Victor's proposed 2027 budget raises the city's payment to the county sheriff's office, the increase the county asked for this summer.
